From there, the team will establish long and short term goals to assist your child the maximum growth in what area they are needing assistance with. The team involves parents and caregivers in the process of establishing goals in order implement a strong home program, allowing the child to carryover techniques learned in therapy sessions into their everyday environment. Feeding and Swallowing Treatment

At Fundamental Therapies, your child has access to speech language pathologists as well as occupational therapists who are highly trained and experienced with a variety of feeding and swallowing treatment techniques.  The area of feeding and swallowing overlaps between these two professions.  The SLP and OT can combine their expertise from each field allowing Fundamental Therapies to create the most efficient and effective plan in order to assist with your child’s feeding and swallowing difficulties.  Our SLP and OT are experienced with:

Tutoring

Our state licensed teachers provide individualized tutoring to children from preschool through 8th grade.  This includes tutoring for: 

  • Reviewing classroom or curricula topics and assignments

  • Assisting students with homework, projects, test preparation, papers, research and other academic tasks

  • Working individually with students to help them understand key concepts that have been taught in the classroom

  • Teaching skills to improve academic performance such as study strategies, note-taking skills and approaches to answering test questions

  • Providing students with positive and constructive feedback

  • Offering feedback on progress to students’ parents and teachers where appropriate
